Communicating complex ideas clearly
Select the right detail, preserve the substance and make unfamiliar research, technology or business ideas understandable beyond a specialist audience.
For universities, research and startup programmes
Founders and researchers often need to explain valuable work beyond their own field. Practical workshops give a cohort shared foundations; individual or team coaching helps participants apply them to their own presentations, pitches and programme milestones.
“James quickly wins the room. His inputs on communication and pitching, particularly for complex deep-tech projects, were invaluable. The quality of the pitches submitted after his workshop made it clear how much the students had benefited.”

Built around the milestone
Choose a standalone workshop or connect workshop learning with coaching ahead of competitions, demo days, research presentations or programme showcases. The format can support individuals or teams, with preparation and coaching volume agreed around the programme.

Workshop options
Select the right detail, preserve the substance and make unfamiliar research, technology or business ideas understandable beyond a specialist audience.
Connect context, problem, direction and evidence so a presentation develops a coherent argument and reaches a clear conclusion.
Build the foundations: audience, value, structure and delivery.
Strengthen the value proposition, narrative, evidence and delivery.
The approach
Participants use the same three-part process on their own material, so the concepts become decisions they can carry into the next presentation.
Clarify your purpose, understand your audience and identify the central idea. Decide what deserves attention and what can be left out.
Build a coherent narrative. Connect your argument, evidence and examples, and explain the detail your audience needs to understand and believe your case.
Work on wording, pacing and emphasis. Practise presenting and responding to questions with confidence, in a style that feels like you.
Tell me about the participants, what they need to present and where the workshop sits in your programme. We’ll work out a useful format.
